Etymology: mid 80's urban slang

1: aka Battle Rock/ Brooklyn Rock. The Up Rock is a battle step that breakdancers in NY did as far back as the 50’s. It is dance fighting. They key is to disrespect your opponent, act out beating them down. All this is done without touching them.

2: Footwork performed standing up, usually used to clear out a circle and define your style. Very competitive.
